
Mohammed was st@bbed to d3ath on Sunday night, April 20, 2025, in the Fadikpe area of Minna.
The deceased, along with vigilante members, went to disperse a gang of hoodlums who had gathered near his residence and were posing a threat to the community. One of the suspects st@bbed him to d3ath during the operation.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, said the prime suspect, Nura Abdurahman, confessed to st@bbing the deceased with a shoemaker needle at the left upper side of the chest.
According to the PPRO, another suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, was earlier arrested in connection with the m8rder.
“Following the suspected culpable homicide of Mohammed Amore on 20th April, 2025 at about 10.45pm at Angwan-Maiturare via Fadikpe, Minna where some members of vigilante with the deceased attempted to effect arrest of some miscreants in the area, and in the process, one of the suspects stabbed the victim dead and escaped,” the statement read.
“In a follow-up investigation, on 22nd April 2025, at about 10pm, Police operatives attached to GRA Div arrested the prime suspect named; Nura Abdurahman 23yrs of Fadikpe, from Katsina State who sells chocolate in Kure market. Minna.
“Earlier arrested Abdullahi Rabiu 25yrs of Fadikpe, also from Katsina State selling shoes in a wheelbarrow in the same Kure market, Minna.
“During interrogation, Nura confessed that three of them; himself, Abdullahi and one other at large called Buhari were smoking cannabis by the riverside within the area at about 10.30pm and suddenly, vigilante members surfaced to arrest them.
“He said that Amore held him, and in a bid to escape, he stabbed the deceased with a shoemaker needle at the left upper side of the chest.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that he escaped and ran to Abuja, but with the cooperation of the community members and relatives, he was apprehended.
