A California man has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife and later returning to r@pe her corpse, in a case prosecutors have compared to the necrophilic crimes of serial k!ller Jeffrey Dahmer.
Zarbab Ali was convicted last Friday of fatally stabbing 25-year-old Rachel Castillo in Simi Valley in November 2022 as the pair were close to finalizing their divorce. He now faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole and is scheduled for sentencing on January 12.

Before the trial, Ali told investigators that he hid inside Rachel’s apartment, ambushed her and killed her with a knife. He then transported her body to a remote desert area in Antelope Valley, where he buried her in a shallow grave. According to authorities, Ali returned the next morning and s3xually assaulted the corpse before reburying it.
In a recorded video confession to police, he said, “if I didn’t commit to being a monster, then she would have died for no reason.”
Prosecutors noted parallels between Ali’s actions and those of Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered several of his victims in order to have s3x with their corpses and once attempted to dig up the body of a former lover.
