Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has shared a series of emotional Instagram Stories expressing fear, frustration and exhaustion over the recent violence in Nigeria.
In the clips, the actress is seen weeping as she reacts to the state of insecurity across the country.
One of her posts read:
“And that’s how the giant of Africa fell, and turned to an ant.”
She also questioned why leaders have remained silent despite the rising killings, pleading for urgent intervention.
In her words:
“Can the president even just step in, to save shame to ask them to at least stop the k!lling until his tenure is over? Is the economical and social suffering alone not enough to make you people have sympathy? Is there nobody out there with sympathy?
I am exhausted.
I am tired.”
The video she shared showed her crying as she spoke about the difficult situation in the country. In her caption, she wrote:
“My heart is shattered… We are all we have left, so we have to stand up for each other. #NigeriaIsBleeding”
