A woman has di£d and a man was injured following a shooting on Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
The shocking shooting incident unfolded at around 1:20 p.m. in the 7900 block of S. May St., according to police.
A video of the incident shows about three masked suspects approaching the car in broad daylight while firing shots at the vehicle.
Officers who responded to the scene located two victims — a 26-year-old female victim and a 27-year-old male victim — who police said were inside a vehicle when someone opened fire and shot them.
Amid the shooting, the car crashed into a nearby GMC van, police added. The GMC van driver refused medical treatment at the scene.
The 26-year-old victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to LCM Hospital in critical condition before she di£d from her injuries. The 27-year-old victim, also shot multiple times, is reportedly in good condition.
A witness told WGN-TV a baby was taken out of the back seat of the car after the shooting. The baby’s condition is unknown at this time and the baby’s relationship to the people who were shot is also unclear.
No one is in custody.
Police has urged anyone with additional information to leave an anonymous tip.
