
The estranged wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, May, has issued a cease-and-desist notice to one of her former lawyers, Emeka Ugwuonye, over what she described as cyberbullying, cyberstalking and defamation.
In a letter released by her legal representative, Graylaw Partners, May accused Ugwuonye of making posts that Cyberstalk and cyberbully her by posting falsehood against her on his social media platforms.
She stated that his posts have been made in a tone and manner that transcend mere defamation, constituting ridicule, unwarranted and harmful behaviour, a calculated assault on her reputation, and have further imperilled her safety through malicious threats and demonstrably false allegations by you and at your behest.
She went further to state that Ugwuonye’s posts also instigated third parties to propagate your disturbing communications. thereby amplifying the damage and causing our Client severe and irreparable harm.
She demanded that he stopped making such publications, withdraw existing posts, issue a public apology, and publish a retraction on all his platforms. She is also seeking financial compensation of N1 billion from Ugwuonye.
