Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the m8rder of one Deji Ojo at the Atikankan Area of Ado Ekiti.
Ojo, who was st@bbed in the area on Saturday, June 28, 2025 during a fight, was confirmed d3ad at the hospital.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Sunday Abutu, said in a statement on Monday said the police commissioner, Joseph Eribo, has ordered discreet investigations into the incident.
The CP, while assuring the public that justice would be delivered, called for calm, saying that no stone will be left unturned.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that on that fateful day at about 18:45 hours, a yet-to-be-identified man went to Atikankan area to give alms to destitute,” the statement read.
“Upon sighting the man, two groups of suspected hoodlums approached him, begging for money.
“In the process, a fight ensued between the two groups, where the deceased was st@bbed. He was rushed to the hospital, where he d!ed while receiving medical treatment.
“Two suspects have been apprehended and are currently undergoing investigation, while others are at large, and effort is underway to arrest them.”
