Man sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for s3xual exploitation in Borno

A High Court sitting in Maiduguri, Borno State, presided over by Hon. Justice Aisha Ndume, has convicted and sentenced a 28-year-old man, Abubakar Ibrahim to five years imprisonment for s3xual exploitation. 

 

Ibrahim was dragged to court by the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) for procurement of a person for s3xual exploitation, contrary to Section 16 (1) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.

 

The offender was first arraigned on November 21, 2024 and convicted on Monday, August 4, 2025. 

 

The court also ordered the convict to pay N1m fine.
