A 30-year-old man, identified as Mr. Stephen, has taken his life following the de@th of his wife in Ikumi Shako Ward, Gurara Local Government Area, Niger State.
Residents of the area say the deceased lost his second wife in March 2025 and had been battling severe depression ever since. Close friends and family revealed that he had frequently expressed his inability to live without her.
It was gathered that on Thursday morning, neighbours noticed Stephen carrying a hunting gun but were unsure of his intentions. Several hours later, his lifeless body was discovered in a secluded area, with a gunshot wound to his head and the weapon still in his hand.
Sources also revealed that Stephen’s first wife is still alive, and he leaves behind two children.
