An apparent explosion lit up the Las Vegas Strip early Saturday morning outside the Aria Resort and Casino, leaving two palm trees engulfed in flames, according to eyewitnesses. Videos shared on social media captured the fiery scene, with onlookers describing the incident as an “explosion.”
One witness reported hearing a thunderous bang followed by a suspicious car speeding away, while another described the noise as sounding like a “bomb.”
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and Clark County Fire Department quickly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.
LVMPD later released a statement saying an occupant in a vehicle threw fireworks, which caused one of the trees to catch fire. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
