
The Lagos state government has sealed off a popular building in the Lagos Island area of the state for discharge of feaces into public drainage.
The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on his X handle. According to him, the actions of the occupants of the building posed environmental pollution and endeared human life in the area and the state. Read what he wrote below
‘’In pursuant of safe and cleaner Lagos, the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) on Thursday 27th August, 2025, sealed-off Pa Kasumu Adepeju Olaniyonu House, 22, Apongbon Street, Lagos Island, Lagos, for deliberate discharge of feaces into the public drains, thereby causing public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life.
Lagosians are enjoined to embrace proper wastewater management and hygiene practices to enhance public health and environmental sustainability.”
