Kentucky Man Kills Wife & 2 Daughters Before committing Suicide: In what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide, a Kenyan mother and her two children were killed by her husband in Louisville, Kentucky, in the United States.
On Saturday, December 3, 2022, at around 9:30 a.m., Louisville Metro Police officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of East Pages Lane in response to a report of a shooting involving numerous victims.
According to LMPD, when officers arrived, they discovered a mother, a man, and two girls deceased. The victims of the shooting were named by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Mary Njoki Muchemi Stanton, 49; Adrianna Stanton, 17; Brianna Stanton, 11; and Gary Stanton, 60.
Initial information from the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) suggested that Gary Stanton shot himself in the head after killing his wife and two daughters inside their home in the Valley Station neighborhood.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports that Mary, Andrianna, and Brianna all sustained gunshot wounds. Last week, Mary had a birthday party. The coroner also stated that Mr. Stanton’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
According to LMPD Maj. Micah Scheu on Saturday, “We feel fairly sure that the incident is going to be a murder-suicide situation where the adult male was the major aggressor who shot the three girls.”
“Obviously, it’s incredibly painful any time lives are lost, and any time juveniles are involved,” he continued. Many of our officers are parents themselves. It’s challenging to witness anything like this. The Stantons were “a normal traditional family inside the area,” per Whas11, an affiliate of ABC.
Louisville Life Church The family had previously met with the church on numerous occasions, but lead pastor Patrick Bissig told Whas11 that they had never formed a close relationship.
At Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter, we saw them. From the outside, it appeared to be your typical happy family,” he continued.
Emily Muchemi reported earlier this week that Mary was vivacious and upbeat. Nothing seemed strange, according to a statement from Muchemi. “Every day, we joked and chatted.” Mary had recently begun working at an adult daycare facility in Louisville after studying to become a registered nurse.
The family was significant to her, and she made an effort to improve everyone’s lot in life, according to Muchemi. Also, Adrianna was a senior at DuPont Manual High School and was involved in many activities as a student. She was eager to graduate this coming spring.
She was a young woman with a bright future, according to Muchemi, who described her as intelligent and responsible. Attended Noe Middle School was Brianna. Brianna, according to Muchemi, “was full of life.” She was friendly with everyone. Mary and Muchemi recently traveled to Kenya to bury their father.
Also, Emily stated, “Dad’s abrupt passing and now this haven’t even allowed our hearts to fully heal.” What drove the father to murder his family before taking his own life has not been revealed by police.
