Know about ‘Jeffrey Bryan McLaughlin charged with wife death ‘ A veteran Texas prosecutor with a reputation for handling cases of domestic violence passed away on Sunday from what appears to have been a domestic incident of her own.
In connection with the passing of his wife, Venisa McLaughlin, who worked as an assistant county attorney for Hood County until she resigned in April, Jeffrey Bryan McLaughlin, 58, has been charged with first-degree murder.
Even though she (no longer worked here), County Attorney Matt Mills noted in a text message to Hood County News that her death was “extremely unfortunate” and that it was a “very tremendous loss for our office.”
During her stint in the office, according to Mills, McLaughlin handled protection orders, justice of the peace courts, mental commitments, and other responsibilities.
McLaughlin’s cause of death has not been disclosed by investigators.
Sheriff Roger Deeds told the Hood County News, “We are currently aggressively looking into this matter.
Also, deeds revealed to Hood County News on Monday that Jeffrey Bryan McLaughlin’s bond had been set at $250,000.
