A Kenyan man, Eric Mboya, has suggested that couples who are feeling burned out or exhausted by their marriages take a few weeks off from one another.
Mboya gave the advice in a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 1.
“In marriage there is what we call marriage fatigue, where you live with your partner in the same house for years without a break, kila siku mnaonana. You reach a point where the attraction and love d!es naturally,” he wrote.
“You start seeing only the bad side of the other. This is the cause of many divorces. Many people, when they reach this point, look for flimsy excuses to separate.
“After separation, you’ll give each other space for months. After 6 month to 1 year, you start missing each other. If one fronts the idea of reunion both of you get excited.
“If you’re in a marriage and feel like tired of your partner, look for somewhere to go for few weeks, you can even visit the village, then come back.”
