“I was jobless, she kept us afloat, 17 years later, i’m still grateful” — Man reflects on marriage and sacrifice

?I was jobless, she kept us afloat, 17 years later, i?m still grateful? ? Man reflects on marriage and sacrifice

A man shared his marriage journey on X, revealing the struggles and commitment behind 17 years of marriage. He said he had no job until 10 months before their wedding and was squatting in Ogun State House, Abuja.

Their first marital home was his wife’s flat on Sapele Road in Benin, and he paid all subsequent rents until they built their home in Ilorin.

He added that even when he lost his job, his wife sustained them for four months without him asking.

“Marry someone who genuinely cares about you and determine to treat her right,” he advised, reflecting on how commitment and support keep marriages strong despite challenges.
