I feel like a prisoner of an unforgiving conscience

One Salis Mohammed Sabo, a personal assistant to the Niger State Governor, has shared a photo of one of the 100 rescued pupils abducted from St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of the state, saying it left him feeling like he committed an unforgivable offence.

“Papiri kidnapped victims: Each time I look at this picture and I see the innocence on the face of this girl, I go into the doldrums —feeling like a prisoner of an unforgiving conscience. For any drop of tears that tickle down from this innocent face, it is a missile against our own very humanhood,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago received the rescued victims on Monday at the Government House in Minna, where they were handed over to state authorities for medical screening and documentation.

Terrorists had attacked the school on November 21, and abducted 315 students, pupils and teachers.
