Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has shared his unconventional view on marriage and intimacy, saying he doesn’t see anything wrong with an open marriage.
Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, the rapper said many married couples struggle to maintain the same level of intimacy they had at the beginning of their relationship — and that allowing some freedom could help.
“I don’t mind having an open marriage,” he said. “Most married couples, you don’t keep having the same amount of sex you were having at the beginning. It will reduce.”
According to him, it’s fine if a spouse seeks satisfaction elsewhere when their partner is unavailable — as long as their emotional bond and commitment remain intact.
“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, touring, I’m not available to be getting intimate with her all the time — that is okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else, provided you’re dedicated to me,” he added.
Blaqbonez went on to say that no random person can easily take his place in his partner’s life, both emotionally and mentally.
“They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do,” he said, before joking that if he ever gets married, he’d prefer to have two separate rooms with his wife — “so we only meet when we want to have intimacy.”
