A video has shown the chaotic moment a woman got into a 0hysicsl fight with her masseuse.

The 46-year-old woman living in Wadala, Mumbai, in India, has filed a police complaint alleging that a massage therapist, hired through a popular app-based aggregator, assaulted her following the cancellation of a service booking.

The incident has prompted the Wadala police to register a case and begin an investigation, while a video capturing the altercation has gone viral online.

The complainant, identified as Shahnaz Sayyed, claimed that she booked a massage through the app for treatment of a frozen shoulder that had been troubling her for some time.

According to her statement, the female therapist Ashvini Vartapi arrived at her residence as scheduled. However, the complainant felt uneasy due to the therapist’s demeanour and the size of the massage bed brought for the session.

“The 46-year-old woman, who lives with her son in Wadala, told the police that she had booked a massage service through an app to treat her frozen shoulder. A female therapist arrived at her home at the scheduled time, but the she felt uncomfortable with the therapist’s demeanour and the size of the massage bed she brought,” police said.

After deciding to cancel the session and start a refund process, the woman alleged that the therapist became agitated. She further claimed the therapist verbally abused her before physically attacking her in her own house.

The therapist verbally abused the woman before physically assaulting her. She pulled the woman’s hair, punched her in the face, scratched her, and pushed her to the ground. The complainant’s son, who tried to intervene, was also pushed around, the complaint added.

During the assault, the woman contacted the police helpline. Officers responded to the call but arrived after the accused therapist had already left the premises.

The complainant then proceeded to register her complaint at the local police station.

Police have recorded a non-cognisable offence against the accused. The investigation also revealed an initial technical issue with the therapist’s details on the booking app, which authorities subsequently corrected.

Wadala police continue to investigate the case.

The incident has received widespread attention as the related video circulates rapidly on social media platforms.
