Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has strongly dismissed reports suggesting a fallout between him and members of the national and state assemblies, labeling suggestions of strained relations as “pure lies.”

The Governor made the comments on Wednesday, December 10, during the commissioning of the extended and dualised 28.4-kilometre Ahoada–Omoku Road. His statement came just a day after he announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing persistent rumors that he had snubbed legislators or refused to address their demands, Fubara insisted he had made “every effort” to convene a meeting.

He explained that the responsibility for scheduling the meeting lay with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, along with other key leaders.
