Kata Hay, a former contestant on the television talent show The Voice, has been arrested in connection with a vehicular homicide warrant issued in Tennessee.

The Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee confirmed that Hay had an active warrant from Davidson County and was taken into custody in Oklahoma early Wednesday morning. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy arrested her at a residence in Osage County on the basis of the Tennessee warrant.

Hay, whose legal name is Kata Huddleston, is currently being held at the Osage County Jail in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Authorities said she is expected to appear before a district court judge on Monday to sign a waiver of extradition to Tennessee.

Court records show that Huddleston has an open driving under the influence case in Davidson County, listed as her second such offence. She is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage estimated at more than 1500 dollars and with driving with an open container of alcohol. The alleged offences are dated December 10.

This is not her first encounter with law enforcement. In 2022, Huddleston served several months in jail after pleading guilty to making s3xual advances toward a 16 year old boy when she was 35. At the time, the victim’s mother alleged that Huddleston forced her tongue into the boy’s mouth and touched him inappropriately over his clothing. Huddleston disputed aspects of the account but was unable to substantiate her claims.

Efforts to reach Hay for comment were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting. She rose to national attention in 2016 after reaching the top 20 on The Voice.
