A Russian fitness coach and influencer has died after attempting a drastic binge-eating challenge where he tried to gain over 50 pounds — and then lose it — to market his upcoming weight-loss course.
Dmitry Nuyanzin, from Orenburg, reportedly consumed up to 10,000 calories every single day for weeks, hoping to shock his followers with a massive weight-gain transformation before shedding it publicly.
According to Daily Mail, the 30-year-old began feeling unwell, canceled his training sessions, and told his friends he planned to see a doctor. Sadly, he died in his sleep after suffering cardiac arrest.
Before his passing, Nuyanzin had already gained almost 30 pounds in just one month. He frequently shared updates about the challenge, hyping his upcoming fitness program and even promising cash rewards to followers who lost 10% of their body weight by New Year.
His daily meals, by his own admission, were extremely heavy — pastries, half a cake, nearly two pounds of dumplings with mayonnaise, constant snacking, and fast food for dinner.
He last updated followers on November 18th, saying he now weighed over 230 pounds.
Tributes have poured in online, with many describing him as “an incredible person” and expressing shock at his sudden passing.
Health experts continue to warn that rapid weight gain puts intense strain on the heart, forcing it to work harder and pump against more resistance — a risk that becomes even more dangerous when done in extreme bursts.
