The office of the African Democratic Congress in Ubima, located in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been set ablaze by unidentified persons.

Ubima is the hometown of Rotimi Amaechi, a prominent member of the ADC and former minister of transportation. Amaechi had been scheduled to officially register as a member of the party at Ward 8 in Ubima by 10:00am on Friday, March 6. Residents of the community reportedly woke up to discover that a section of the party office had been destroyed by fire early in the morning.

The incident caused panic among residents and has generated reactions among political observers and supporters, particularly as political activity intensifies in the state. Details about the attack, including the identities of those responsible and the full extent of the damage, remain unclear.
