Fajr Vallejos Shot in Car With Two Children In Anacostia – Fajr Vallejos was shot by a drive-by gunman as she was returning home after picking up her kids from her parents’ house.
Around 8:20, members of the Seventh District arrived at the designated spot for the gunfire report. The crew arrived and found an adult female victim inside a car with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
When D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived and saw no signs of life, they decided to leave the victim at the scene until they could transport him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Fajr Vallejos Found Shot To Death: What Happened?
Fajr Vallejos, 30, was allegedly found in a car in the 1700 block of W Street S.E. at roughly 8:20 p.m., according to the police. According to her family, she only lived a few blocks away.
The search for the shooter is still going on, a law enforcement source informed News4 after Fajr was found shot to death in a car with her unharmed children on Friday night in Anacostia.
Family members informed News4 that Vallejos’ children, who were in the backseat and were 8 and 5 years old, witnessed her murder.
Fajr Vallejos Children Witnessed Her Murder
The eight and five-year-old Vallejos children allegedly witnessed their parents’ murders while inside the car, according to family members.
Jose Issac Vallejos, Fajr’s husband, claimed that the fact that their children were with her made matters worse. He revealed that their son allegedly said he watched fireworks and then saw his mother die.

The sole consolation, according to the victim’s old friend Alya Ahmed, is that her children were uninjured.
Ahmed described Vallejos as dedicated, loving, giving, compassionate, and contagious with a smile. A black car with tinted windows was leaving the area after the gunshot.
Fajr Vallejos Murder Suspect
Police launched a homicide investigation after a woman was pronounced dead on Friday night following a shooting in Southeast D.C.
A shooting was reported in the 1700 block of W Street Southeast at roughly 8:15 p.m., prompting the call for investigators.
When the police came, they found a Vallejos who had been shot and was not breathing. She was transferred to a neighboring hospital after being pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Police, there isn’t a suspect lookout at the moment, and no one has been detained. Investigations into the situation continue.
Also, Police are looking for a suspect and have a $25,000 reward available. As that inquiry continues, her heartbroken family members have a message for the public.
