An ex-convict who was recently released from prison over a burglary conviction has been arrested again for allegedly breaking into several shops along Agbaluku-Arigidi in Akoko North West Local Area of Ondo State.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended by soldiers stationed at Semusemu Junction in Ikare-Akoko after he was caught around midnight along the Agbaluku–Arigidi Road area.
A source told Ondo State owned publication, Hope Newspaper, that the suspect allegedly broke into seven shops in the area and carted away goods valued at about N1million.
It was gathered that the soldiers on routine night surveillance intercepted the suspect and took him into custody before questioning him.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and admitted that he had previously been jailed twice for burglary-related offences.
Following the preliminary investigation, the soldiers were said to have handed the suspect over to the Ikare Area Command of the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
