A motorcyclist was swept away by erosion at Uwenlenbo Road, in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The tragic incident which occurred after a heavy downpour on Tuesday evening, September 16, 2025, was captured in a viral video making the rounds on social media.
The video shows the rider struggling with the wave of water until he was swept away.
In the clip, an individual said the powerful rush of water overwhelmed the rider while he was carrying a female passenger.
Another eyewitness urged the people to assist the rider who was struggling with the wave of water until he was swept away.
Sympathisers displayed the victim’s bike plate number, urging those who knew him to come up to identify him.
The sympathisers called for urgent intervention by the state and Federal Government agencies, lamenting that erosion continues to threaten lives and properties in the state.
