Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former executive assistant, George Kaplan, continued his testimony Thursday morning in the ongoing federal s3x trafficking and racketeering trial against the rap mogul in New York City. The case, now in its second week, has drawn national attention as more details emerge about Combs’ alleged conduct behind closed doors.
Kaplan told the court he once carried $50,000 in cash aboard a private jet for Diddy and recalled another occasion when he collected $10,000 at a Western Union on behalf of Combs Enterprises. Under questioning by federal prosecutors, Kaplan acknowledged he was aware of Combs’ long-term relationships with Cassie, Gina, and Kim Porter, the mother of Diddy’s children.
When asked why he did not intervene during violent incidents, Kaplan responded simply: “My career.” He recounted a specific episode aboard a private flight to Las Vegas in which he heard glass shatter during an altercation between Diddy and Cassie. According to Kaplan, Diddy later instructed him to get creams to cover bruises on Cassie’s face. Kaplan said he used a corporate credit card to purchase the items.
The former assistant also testified about witnessing Diddy throw green apples “very hard” at Gina at his mansion on Star Island in Miami. Kaplan said he left Combs Enterprises in 2015, citing both moral concerns over being involved in what he described as “fixing those types of things” and his father’s battle with prostate cancer. Despite the troubling experiences, Kaplan stated he was grateful for the opportunity and had respect for Diddy, but ultimately felt compelled to resign.
In earlier testimony on Wednesday, May 21, Kaplan outlined his duties while working for Combs between 2013 and 2015. These included booking hotel rooms under aliases in cities like New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, preparing the rooms with items such as baby oil and candles, and cleaning them afterward. He also testified that he was occasionally sent out to procure food and drugs for Diddy.
The trial is expected to continue with further high-profile testimony. Rapper Kid Cudi, who had a past relationship with Cassie, is scheduled to take the stand later Thursday, May 22.
