A newly married couple in Blumenau, Brazil had their wedding photoshoot interrupted in dramatic fashion when a car unexpectedly descended the cathedral steps behind them. Jaque Amorim and Neres Soares were posing on the staircase of St. Paul the Apostle Cathedral when a driver suddenly steered a sedan down the stone steps.
The moment was captured on video, showing the vehicle bumping down several tiers as the bride and groom watched in shock. According to Amorim, the woman behind the wheel had mistaken the pedestrian staircase for an exit from a nearby parking lot.
Amorim said the driver appeared unfazed and even asked whether she could continue driving down the staircase, only realizing after a moment that she had taken the wrong route. Onlookers rushed to intervene, helping guide the vehicle back to level ground and directing the driver toward the proper exit.
No injuries were reported and the couple’s photoshoot resumed. Although visibly startled, particularly the groom, Amorim said the incident ultimately left them with an unforgettable memory from their wedding day.
