Cameron has reportedly been charged in connection with rapper Takeoff’s shooting last month at a private party in downtown Houston. He may have had a gun on him unlawfully at the time of the event.
The prosecution, however, asserted at a court procedure that the suspect, 22-year-old Cameron Joshua, is not believed to have discharged a weapon during the shooting of Takeoff.
Takeoff, whose true name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, teamed up with his uncle Quavo, cousin Offset, and cousin to form the Grammy-nominated rap duo Migos, which is located in an Atlanta suburb.
At a funeral service in Atlanta, Takeoff’s musical legacy was recognized by fans and artists including Drake and Justin Bieber.
Cameron Joshua Jail: Why Was He Arrested?
Lil Cam has been held in custody at the Harris County jail ever since his arrest on November 22.
Lil Cam, the man accused of killing rapper Takeoff of the Migos, was detained by Houston Police last week on charges of illegally carrying a weapon. A 16-year-old team member of Mob Ties Records is Joshua Cameron.
The CEO and founder of Mob Ties, J Prince Jr., has also been accused of having a hand in Takeoff’s demise by “Black Twitter.”
Despite the fact that he is being detained on unrelated charges, detectives are reportedly questioning him about the Takeoff incident.
Cameron Joshua Arrest And Charges: Is He In Jail?
After it was reported that Cameron Joshua had a pistol when the rapper was shot and died on November 1 at around 2:30 am following a private party outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling, he was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office prosecutor gave reporters a brief statement following the hearing on Wednesday, stating that they thought Cameron Joshua had been charged appropriately and that they were still looking into Takeoff’s death.
Christopher Downey, Joshua’s attorney, claims that there is no proof that his client shot Takeoff or participated in the shooting.
Joshua is accused of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon as well as having a weapon when he was apprehended on November 22.
Does Joshua Know Who Killed Takeoff?
When questioned if Joshua knew who killed Takeoff, Downey replied that if they felt like it, they would speak to the district attorney’s office. They have kept silent despite the fact that they are currently being charged.
According to Downey, Cameron Joshua did not actually shoot Takeoff.
During the hearing, it was decided that Joshua should remain in detention until the upcoming hearing on his bond.
According to Houston Police, at least two people fired guns at the time Takeoff was slain. An autopsy revealed that Takeoff died primarily from piercing gunshot wounds to his head, body, and arm.
Despite being shot at twice more, no one was seriously hurt.
Investigators went looking for the 40 partygoers who departed after the incident so they could speak with them.
Lil Cam Was Released On Bail
After being released on bond for a past conviction, Lil Cam was allowed to leave prison in April 2022.
If detectives find evidence linking him to Takeoff’s killing and the most recent warrant breaches the terms of his current bond, he may be charged with further offenses.
He was already out on bond after being charged in Harris County in September 2021 with having a phony ID and in April 2021 with breaking into a car. In October, he was also adjudged guilty of grand theft in Los Angeles County.
