Bronx Mom Arrested In Stabbing of Children
As previously reported, the 22-year-old lady was discovered in her third-floor apartment’s kitchen after police were initially summoned to a report of someone acting strangely. Before departing, they were informed that the woman’s two children were with their father. She had been sent to the hospital for an evaluation.
That proved to be untrue. Deshawn Fleming, age 3, and Octavius Fleming-Canada, age 11 months, were discovered in the bathtub, submerged under a pile of garments, by their father, Columbus Canada, who was last seen leaving the residence just before police arrived. The water was on because the mother had switched it on and left it running, causing it to overflow and seep to the second level.
Canada was reportedly cradling the boys’ bleeding bodies in the hallway while he shouted out for assistance, according to a neighbor who saw him.
The New York Post reports that Dimone Fleming has been detained and is awaiting formal charges. She remains in the hospital. Investigators are looking into claims that Fleming might have thought her children were demon-possessed, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to the article.
According to a police source who spoke to The Post, “She made claims about the devil – odd statements.”
The mother recently talked about demons, Casey Canada, the younger boy’s great aunt, told the New York Daily News.
She believed the children to be devils. Even still, she didn’t understand why Fleming would kill the kids, she continued, “she stated she was scared of them.
She said, “She obviously adored them, for sure.” That wasn’t a hoax.
Other sources informed the Post that the Administration for Children’s Services. Investigated Fleming following the birth of her first child for allegedly not caring for the kid, but the resolution of that inquiry is not known.
