A popular disc jockey, DJ Orlando, is receiving treatment in a hospital after allegedly being attacked at a wedding in Otukpo, Benue State following a disagreement over extra payment.
According to reports, the incident occurred when DJ Orlando refused to perform at an after-wedding party, explaining that the original agreement with the couple covered only the main ceremony.
Attempts to renegotiate reportedly escalated into violence.
Sources say members of bride’s family allegedly assaulted the DJ with broken bottles and other dangerous objects, leaving him with serious head injuries.
He reportedly ran into the bride’s father’s room for safety but was pushed out and left vulnerable to further attacks.
He was eventually rescued and taken to a hospital.
A local publication, Benue Info Pedia reported that the bride and groom, the latter reportedly from Cross River State, allegedly left Otukpo shortly after the attack to avoid questioning.
