Bandits have shot d3ad two girls abducted from Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The girls identified as Abida and Ummi, were abducted alongside a vigilante member, his wife and 10 others on March 1, 2026.
The bandits had demanded N14 million ransom, to which the families pleaded with them repeatedly but they stood their ground.
The families later struggled to raise N13 million which they took to the kidnappers who in turn freed other women in captivity but held back the men.
A source from the area told Daily Trust that after collecting the ransom at a location around Hayin Dam forest in neighboring Kachia Local Government Area of state, on Saturday, April 4, the bandits informed the families that they had k!lled the two girls.
According to him, the two young girls had resisted alleged attempts by some of the bandits to r@pe them.
“As the girls refused to allow the bandits r@pe them, their leader ordered them to be shot on the spot,” the source said.
The source added that the bandits said they would only release the male victims when the remaining balance of N1 million is paid and food stuff are provided to them.
A security source also confirmed the k!lling of two women, but did not give details of the incident.
A community leader also spoke about the k!lling of two ladies.
“Infact, it was this afternoon one of the family members of the abducted victims called to inform us that two girls among the victims had been k!lled,” he said.
