Arya Singh Arrested for throwing Baby into inlet: The mother of a newborn baby girl whose body was discovered in the Atlantic Ocean in 2018 has been detained, according to Florida police, who made the announcement on Thursday.
On a charter boat in June 2018, an off-duty firefighter from Boynton Beach found “Baby June’s” body drifting close to the Boynton Beach Inlet. According to WTVJ, the baby’s father was later discovered by Palm Beach County authorities. He said that his then-girlfriend, 29-year-old Arya Singh, told him she was pregnant but had an abortion.
According to Singh, her kid was born 40 hours before its body was discovered floating in the ocean. She reportedly told WTVJ that she was unaware of her pregnancy until after delivery. She allegedly added that she wasn’t sure if her daughter was still alive or had passed away.
According to reports, Singh placed the infant in a backpack that she put in her car while driving to a Florida Atlantic University lesson. According to WTVJ, she dumped the body after class.
Also, according to investigators, the infant was already dead when she was abandoned at Boynton Beach Inlet. According to WBPF, Singh was at the inlet 48 hours before her daughter was discovered according to GPS and phone data.
Singh reportedly admitted to police that she dumped her daughter’s body at the inlet because she liked the location. She reportedly also admitted that at the time, she feared for her future and for herself.
“She gave birth in the restroom of the hotel room. Before she saw the baby emerge, she was unaware that she was pregnant. Detective Brittany Christoffel said she claimed the infant fell into the water and she blacked out before picking her up or even checking on her.
According to WJLA, investigators looked through Google search histories, which included data on the Boynton Beach Inlet. Days before she allegedly dumped her daughter’s body and for nearly a month thereafter, Singh allegedly perused the local headlines.
Once the father of the child was ruled out as a suspect, Singh’s covert DNA sample was retrieved by police, who claimed it proved Singh was the mother. According to WFLA, they took a sample from something Singh threw away.
The baby’s existence and death were supposedly unknown to the father. Singh, who is accused of first-degree murder, is still incarcerated and has no bond.
