Know about ‘Arkansas Boy Blu Found Dead Under Floorboards’ death. The boyfriend of the mother of an Arkansas boy who was discovered last week buried beneath the floor of his house drowned him in the toilet as “punishment” for biting the man’s finger.
According to an arrest complaint, the boy’s mother, 28-year-old Ashley Rolland, informed police that her 33-year-old boyfriend, Nathan Bridges, killed her son Blu on September 9th. NBC News reports.
According to the affidavit, Rolland also told officers that Bridges held her 6-year-old daughter under scorching hot water “as punishment for her behavior difficulties,” which resulted in significant burn injuries.
According to the affidavit, Bridges refused to cooperate with investigators. It was unclear how old the boy was. Arkansas State Police said he was six, but court filings show he was born on December 16, 2017, five years before his body was discovered. Karen Rolland, his paternal grandma, said he would have turned six. According to a GoFundMe page set up for Blu’s funeral, the girl is 7, and Blu was 5.
As previously reported by CrimeOnline, Rolland and Bridges were detained last week and charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a juvenile.
The boy was found dead after Karen Rolland obtained the right to weekend visitation through a court order and showed up to pick up the child. The girl had burns on her scalp, her head was shaved, and Blu was nowhere to be found. She also appeared underweight. The boy’s body was eventually discovered in the home’s hallway, under the floorboards, after the woman took the girl to the hospital and called the police.
Timmy Childers, the father of Ashley Rolland, who said his daughter had informed him that Blu was dead and where the body was, gave them the location to look.
Deputies discovered “newly nailed down planks” and “disturbed dirt underneath,” according to the affidavit. They claimed to have discovered a child’s flip-flop, a red and blue blanket, and “the distinct stink of rotting” beneath the top layer of dirt.
“An unidentified bulk suspected to be a little human body encased in numerous layers of plastic bags,” according to the search warrant that the deputies obtained. The cause of death will be determined by the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
The document also shows that Rolland allegedly provided contradictory statements on who buried the boy underneath the floor. She informed the police that Bridges “cut a hole in their wooden floor, dug a hole in the ground, and buried [Blu] under the house,” while a woman who was not identified by Rolland told investigators that Rolland claimed Blu “had come out of the bathroom with his face/body swelling and foaming at the mouth before collapsing and dying.” She said that Rolland had told her that she had “buried Blu under the floorboards” because she had “no idea what to do.”
According to NBC, Bridges and Rolland appeared in court on Monday and received a no-bond order. Their subsequent court date is January 17. According to NBC News, Karen Rolland has been given emergency custody of the child.
