Newsypeople – Patrick Aghamba, the Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, and his wife have reportedly been kidnapped while en route to Abuja for the wedding of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s daughter, Adaora.
The abduction took place in Kogi State, where one of the commissioner’s aides, A. B. Affiah, was tragically killed during the incident.
The wedding was scheduled for Saturday, August 17th, in Abuja, following a traditional ceremony that took place earlier in Isuofia, the governor’s hometown.
Regrettably, the commissioner and his wife were unable to attend the celebration after being ambushed by unidentified gunmen on their journey.
As of now, neither the government of Anambra State nor the Nigerian Police Force has released an official statement regarding the incident.

However, Christian Aburime, the Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, has confirmed the kidnapping and stated that efforts are underway to secure the couple’s release.
Kidnapping has become a significant problem in Kogi State, with multiple incidents reported lately due to the state’s advantageous location along major highways. This latest event has heightened concerns regarding the safety and security of travelers in the area.
