Head coach, Eric Chelle has announced a 26-man Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Unity Cup in London, bringing veteran forward Ahmed Musa back into the team for the first time since January 2024.
Musa, who also resumes his captaincy duties, leads a squad filled with fringe players and home-based talent, as several Europe-based regulars are rested ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Notably absent are Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, and Alex Iwobi.
Nine players from the Nigeria Premier Football League are included, offering local talent a chance to prove themselves on the international stage.
Werder Bremen’s Felix Agu joins the camp for training but will not feature in matches due to pending documentation.
The Unity Cup will take place from May 26 to 31 at Brentford FC’s Gtech Community Stadium, featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. Nigeria plays Ghana on May 28.
After the tournament, most NPFL players will return home, while stars like Boniface, Ola Aina, and Troost-Ekong are expected to rejoin the squad for a June 6 friendly against Russia in Moscow.
