Atalanta manager, Ivan Juric says Ademola Lookman was given “bad advice” by people around him as he attempted to force a summer move to Inter Milan.
The Nigeria international made his first appearance of the season in Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Torino on Sunday, coming on in the 87th minute to replace Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Juric revealed he had a frank discussion with Lookman last week and stressed the importance of the forward regaining full fitness.
“He (Lookman) spoke to me and the team on Monday. He was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice,” Juric told Tuttomercatoweb. “He has a great winning mentality, and now we need to get him back in shape physically.”
The victory was Atalanta’s second league win of the season, moving them to fifth place with eight points from four games.
