British-Nigerian actor Damson Idris is making headlines—not for a new role, but for standing up for Black women.
In a post shared online, the actor didn’t mince words as he called out the growing wave of hate directed at Black women, particularly from older Black men.
“I see so much unprovoked hatred towards Black women today by predominantly grown Black men. Especially towards our young stars that are just trying to do their thing,” he wrote.
He continued, “The compulsion to humble these women perhaps makes you feel like more of a man. I promise you, you aren’t men to us.”
Damson wrapped it up with a firm message: “A new year is approaching. Grow up.”
