An Albanian crime ring dubbed a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde gang has admitted carrying out more than 40 high-value burglaries across the UK, stealing over 1 million worth of jewellery, designer goods and cash from wealthy homeowners before being unmasked through photos in which they flaunted stacks of money and stolen luxury items. Endrit Nikolli, 27, Kristian Gropcaj, 30, George Lleshaj, 31, Krisjian Dedndreaj, 28, and Sidorjan Lleshi, 26, targeted large homes and mansions across multiple counties between December 2023 and July 2025. Detectives eventually linked them to at least 44 burglaries, nine in Derbyshire, eight in Cheshire, five in Nottinghamshire, seven in Staffordshire, two each in Cleveland, Leicestershire and Warwickshire, and nine in West Mercia. The gang set weekly gold-theft targets and carried out meticulously planned break-ins, often using ladders to reach first-floor windows and balconies before ransacking properties. Much of the stolen haul was quickly sold for cash, and while some items were recovered, police say the vast majority remains untraceable. Nikollis British girlfriend, 33-year-old Jade Tubb, helped facilitate the operation and exchanged letters with him in which the pair referred to themselves as Bonnie and Clyde. She has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess criminal property. The investigation began after a spate of burglaries in eastern Cheshire. Detectives matched footwear impressions from different scenes and used ANPR to link vehicles including a red Ford Focus insured to Gropcaj and a hire car booked by Tubb to the burglaries. Phone data placed the group together at a Birmingham coffee shop in the Jewellery Quarter. DNA from one Staffordshire break-in matched Nikolli. Police carried out coordinated raids in Walsall, Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham, arresting Nikolli, Lleshaj, Gropcaj and Tubb. Dedndreaj was detained later in Surrey, while Lleshi was arrested in Sheffield in September 2025. Officers recovered 13 designer handbags, 14 watches worth nearly 17,000, hundreds of photos of stolen goods and messages containing Google Maps links to targeted homes.
All six defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to possess criminal property. They pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court on November 28, 2025 and January 6, 2026. Nikolli, Gropcaj, Dedndreaj, Lleshaj and Lleshi have been remanded and will be sentenced on February 20, while Tubb has been released on bail ahead of sentencing the same day. Temporary DCI Ryan McVeigh of Derbyshire Police hailed the case as an example of cross-force cooperation, saying the gang caused misery for a lot of people across several counties. DS Laura Fox of Macclesfield Proactive CID described the group as a high-level organised crime gang and noted that they regularly gloated about their crimes and shared images of ill-gotten gains. All six defendants had no option but to plead guilty and are now facing the consequences of their actions, she said. The post Bonnie and Clyde gang caught after flaunting watches and cash stolen in 1,000,000 spree appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
