On Saturday night, a tenant of a Texas apartment building shot 53-year-old Cesar Montelongo Sr and Killed him, he is a maintenance worker whom he mistook for a burglar.
According to Grand Prairie police, at around 6 o’clock Cesar Montelongo Sr., 53, was visiting Clayton Pointe Apartments inspecting balconies for frozen or burst water lines. He was shot through a window by a resident who thought he was a burglar.
After being brought to a hospital, Montelongo was later declared dead.
According to authorities, the resident stayed put and assisted in the investigation. He wasn’t detained. According to police, a grand jury would be tasked with reviewing the matter.
Carlos Montelongo Jr., the son of Montelongo, informed WFAA that the 29th wedding anniversary of his parents, Candelaria, would have been observed on Sunday.
They went out for breakfast on December 24 because they knew everything would be closed on Christmas, but Montelongo Jr. stated it was regrettable that he couldn’t attend the anniversary.
The son claimed that his father had spent 16 years working at the property.
His wife and five sons are left behind.
