4 years Old Leopold Mercer Killed As Post Falls on Him In An Accident At Family Home

4 years Old Leopold Mercer Death, a post collapsed on the British kid as he played outside with a playmate, officials said last week during an inquest held at the Stourport-on-Severn court. He was a British citizen.

Leopold Mercer was struck by a hefty garden post while he was swinging on an iron gate in the family garden on September 18, according to Birmingham Live. He was at his home in Hanbury, Worcestershire. University professors Eva Frickel and Jason Mercer, the child’s parents, called the police and started doing CPR on the infant until help could arrive.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and medical professionals from Midlands Air Ambulance arrived and resumed the CPR attempts. He was declared dead at the scene in 42 minutes.

“Leopold was laying next to a broken brick gate post and metal gate on the path. Leo was reportedly not responsive when the paramedics arrived, according to Dr. Christopher Hamilton of the Midlands Air Ambulance. He appeared to have had a significant maxillofacial fracture in addition to what was certainly a terrible brain lesion from a very extensive head injury.

According to DailyMail, a medical examiner concluded that the child’s catastrophic neck and head injury caused his death.

The 4 years Old Leopold Mercer Death could not have been caused by anything malicious, according to West Mercia police, who concluded their investigation, and “it appeared to them to be a tragic accident.”

Leopold’s mother tweeted last month, I am still a scientist in my head, but my heart is forever broken. Child loss grief takes a permanent place in your life. I don’t know how it will impact my scientific journey yet.

Now, Frickel wants to “create a bereaved parents support group in academics.”
