A Memphis man 29-year-old Edwin Conner Beats his Girlfriend and threw their 1-year-old child to the ground while being charged with other offenses.
According to Memphis Police, they were summoned to the Airport Inn just after 5 p.m. on Sunday and a lady informed police that she and her boyfriend who is also the father of her toddler had engaged in a physical altercation, WHBQ reported.
According to the arrest affidavit for Edwin Conner, 29, he struck the unidentified woman in the face with his fist before starting to strangle her. He bit her on the head, arms, and back in addition to pulling her hair.
According to the records, the woman managed to escape and phone the police, but Conner had already left before they arrived.
A few hours later, after Conner had stolen the child from the backseat of her car in the parking lot, the woman contacted the police again from the hotel. She informed the police that he ran up to a fence and threatened to drop them by dangling the boy over it.
She claimed that as the woman approached, he allegedly flung the kid to the ground. Conner attempted to flee the cops when they arrived but was unsuccessful. He was detained and charged with first-degree attempted murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, child abuse, child neglect, and use of a firearm in the commission of a hazardous felony. He was also charged with evading arrest on foot.
According to investigators, the infant also suffered cuts on his lips and head as well as bruises.
