2024 CHAN tournament: Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle to name Eagles B squad today

Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, will name his final squad for the 2024 CHAN tournament today after two weeks of training in Ikenne, Ogun State.  Chelle had invited an initial 35 players to camp for the tournament, but the numbers have reduced after five players became ineligible due to deals abroad, while one other player was dropped due to injury.  The five players are Papa Daniel Mustapha, Waliu Ojetoye, Savour Isaac, Abubakar Sadiq, and Philip Adejo, while the injured player is Rangers International defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi.  The Super Eagles B will play their first two matches of the competition, against Senegal and Sudan, at the Amman Stadium on the island of Zanzibar, before taking on Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.  Nigeria will be hoping to win the tournament for the first time, having finished third at the 2014 edition in South Africa before losing the final against hosts Morocco four years later.  The post 2024 CHAN tournament: Super Eaglescoach, Eric Chelle to name Eagles B squad today appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
