A 14-year-old girl in Harare,  Zimbabwe, was drugg3d and r@p3d by two men after running away from home to escape her mother’s discipline, police confirmed.

The horrific attack occurred when the teenager, who had been involved in a school fight, tried to seek refuge at her grandmother’s house.

According to authorities, the victim was intercepted by two men—identified as Tawanda Zhuwawo and an unnamed accomplice, who forced her to consume an unknown substance before repeatedly assaulting her. The suspects held the girl captive overnight, subjecting her to brutal sexual violence.

Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, Harare’s provincial police spokesperson, confirmed one arrest and appealed for public help in tracking down the second suspect. “We have one suspect in custody following this horrific attack on a minor,” Inspector Chakanza said. “The victim received immediate medical attention at Chitungwiza Central Hospital and has been connected with counseling services through Social Welfare.”

The traumatized teenager was treated at the hospital, where forensic examinations were conducted. Child protection services have since intervened to provide psychological support.
