
At least seven people, including children, have been k!lled and eight others injured in an attack on Angwan Rimi, a community in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The attack allegedly carried out by suspected herders occurred on Sunday night, August 24, 2025.
The National Publicity Secretary of Irigwe Youth Movement, Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, who confirmed the incident said those k!lled include, Jacob Zakka, 12, Felicia Francis, 30, Magaret Mathias, 5, Veronica Paul, 25, Delight Paul,1 year old, Confidence Yakubu,15, and Sati Markus, 9.
The injured were identified as Mathew Sunday, 14, Jethro Istafanus, 7, Jackson Istafanus, 5, Emmanuel Morris, 14, Agatha Sylvester, 9, Joy Markus, 9, Divine Paul, 6 months, Mary Ishaya, 12.
“Irigwe Youth Movement’s leadership uses this medium to call on the Federal Government, Kaduna State government, Plateau State Government and Kauru Local Government to intervene by making sure the lives of Irigwe people and our communities are well protected,” the statement read.
“The Leadership also calls the attention of security agencies to rise up and halt the continuous carnage on Irigwe people.”
