Jack Johnson Death: 10 Years Old Boy Died

On December 11, three young boys, including Jack Johnson, perished in an icy lake at a nature reserve close to Solihull, England.

Following his death, while attempting to save three other people who had fallen into the lake, Jack, 10, has been praised as a hero and a “wonderful” youngster.

According to his aunt Charlotte McIlmurray, he heroically dove into the sea to save the boys.

Police And the Public Made Every Effort To Save The Boys

The victims’ families and friends are “extremely distraught,” according to Supt. Richard Harris of the West Midlands Police.

He claimed that all of the responding police members dove into the ocean without regard for their safety or wearing any special attire.

The police attempted to rescue the kids in Babbs Mill Park in Kingshurst, with several officers wading through waist-deep water and one trying to punch through the ice.

The latter experienced slight hypothermia. Harris expressed his relief that the officer had been freed after improving.

To be “100% assured that there is no one else in the water at this moment,” searches are still being conducted around the lake.

The boys were sent urgently to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Heartlands Hospital after going into cardiac arrest. They were later declared dead because they could not be resurrected.

At the time of the incident, local temperatures are thought to have dropped to 1C (34F) and -3C (26F), respectively.

Further Investigation And Search Is Ongoing

There are yet unreleased details about the incident. Officers were still trying to sort out the specifics, Supt. Harris continued, so they were unable to estimate how long the boys had been submerged.

He emphasized, though, that officers were on the scene quickly after the initial contact, which came at 14:30 GMT.

Based on the information they had, families and locals assisted the police, and the police “did everything they possibly could to support them.”

Before specialized fire teams arrived, police officers and members of the public first entered the icy water to rescue the lads.

One group who assisted in saving the lads was firefighters from Sheldon Fire Station, which is about five miles from the park.

One of the dead boys’ friends claimed that after attempting to rescue their captive teammate, they fell into the lake.

The lads were all playing on the ice, according to Tommy Barnet, 10, of Sky News, when one of them got their legs caught. While attempting to save him, his friends all perished.
