Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has come under fire on social media after openly supporting her colleague Regina Daniels, who is currently battling a marital crisis with her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko.
Jegede, known for her outspoken nature, took to Instagram to advise Regina to prioritize her safety and sanity, even if it means walking away from her marriage.
“Leave If There’s Violence,” Yvonne Advises Regina
In a blunt Instagram post, Yvonne urged Regina to leave her marriage if the reports of domestic abuse are true.
She emphasized that there should be no tolerance for violence, regardless of who the victim is.
Her post read: “Regina, you are still very young. If there’s violence in your marriage, please carry your bag. There is never sugarcoating for me as long as violence is involved (both for man and woman).”
The actress stressed that no relationship is worth one’s peace of mind and advised Regina to consider her mental health and her children in whatever decision she makes.
Backlash from Critics
Following her comment, Yvonne Jegede faced backlash from some social media users who accused her of meddling in Regina’s marital affairs.
Others claimed she was trying to gain attention by inserting herself into the trending issue.
However, Yvonne fired back at her critics, noting that she had no regrets about speaking her truth.
In a follow-up post, she wrote:
“I can’t see all your negative comments because I’m too busy enjoying the good times with mine.”
