Reuben Abati, the veteran journalist and former presidential aide, has melted hearts with a touching tribute to his wife, Kikelomo, on her 46th birthday.
Describing her as his “sunrise” and “jewel,” Abati celebrated her for being his anchor, muse, and biggest supporter through life’s many turns.

He praised Kikelomo’s discipline, intelligence, and work ethic, saying her quiet strength continues to inspire him daily.
According to him, her charm goes beyond beauty. It lies in her determination and grace.
Wisdom from experience
Reflecting on his marriage, Abati recalled words once shared by his godfather, Prince Adelusi: “A happy man marries the girl he loves, but the happier man loves the woman he marries.”
He said this wisdom has shaped his view on love, reminding him that true joy comes not from perfection but from growing together with one’s partner.
Abati emphasised that marriage, when rooted in love and respect, becomes a continuous journey of rediscovering happiness.
In his closing note, Abati declared that genuine happiness isn’t found in material things but in shared love and understanding. He described Kikelomo as his “sun,” promising to cherish her forever.
“True happiness doesn’t sit on the shelf; it comes from within,” he wrote, adding that his wife remains his biggest blessing and life’s brightest light.
