Nigerian media personality Nedu Wazobia has stirred conversation after stating that poverty makes it difficult for someone to be seen as a role model in Nigeria.
Nedu made the remark during a recent podcast conversation with media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo.

While discussing the influence of money in society, the radio host argued that many people today no longer respect or look up to individuals who are financially struggling.
According to him, wealth now plays a major role in determining who society considers successful or worthy of admiration.
In a snippet of the interview shared on his Instagram page, Nedu also claimed that many women living in the Lekki area of Lagos are unable to comfortably afford their rent despite maintaining a certain lifestyle.
He said …
“You can’t be a role model when you don’t have money in Nigeria. Most women wey dey live for Lekki, na men dey pay their rent.”
