‘Una don bring Chinese’ — Portable reacts to influx of fake iPhone 17 in Nigeria

Controversial Nigerian artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again caused a stir online after mocking people who flaunt expensive gadgets but struggle with basic necessities.

In a trending video, the Zazoo Zeh crooner criticised individuals who proudly display the latest iPhone 17 despite not owning a car or having a stable apartment.

“You dey use iPhone 17, you no get 4 tyres, you go soon tire,” Portable said in his trademark street slang, warning that such misplaced priorities only lead to hardship and frustration.

The singer, known for his raw street wisdom, urged young Nigerians to focus on hard work and self-development instead of spending money on luxury phones for social media validation.

Portable tackles fake iPhones and “Chinese” versions

In the same video, Portable went further to accuse some importers and phone dealers of flooding the market with fake iPhone 17 models.

He lamented that Nigerians who bought these counterfeit versions often couldn’t tell the difference.

Una don bring thief, una don bring Chinese. They want to dupe you, una dey spoil people business,” he ranted, while expressing pity for genuine users who now face doubt and ridicule.

According to him, anyone spending huge amounts on a phone should not have to worry whether it’s original or not.

His remarks have since sparked debate over the rising market of modified gadgets in Nigeria and how social pressure fuels the demand for them.

Fans react with humour and mixed opinions

Portable’s remarks instantly became a talking point on social media.

One user wrote, “It’s causing wahala because Nigerians like to oppress themselves. Those using fake iPhone 17 go explain tire when dem wan oppress others.”

Another fan commented, “You dey use iPhone 17, you no get four tyre, you go soon tire,” echoing Portable’s viral punchline.

While some applauded the singer for speaking the truth in a humorous way, others argued that his delivery was too harsh, even if his message about financial priorities was valid.

Regardless, the video continues to trend across social platforms, reinforcing Portable’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most outspoken and unpredictable entertainers.
