Controversial social media critic, Verydarkman, has slammed protesters who joined the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow rally, saying they did it for hype rather than the real purpose.
These remarks come in wake of the recent Sowore protest for Nnamdi Kanu‘s release, which saw the arrest of key figures, including his brother and lawyer, and even Sowore himself, causing the movement’s momentum to drop sharply.
In an Instagram live video, VeryDarkMan criticized protesters for following trends rather than fighting for a cause. He said:
“Protest don go down. Nnamdi Kanu protest went down immediately they arrested Sowore, you know why? Because the people didn’t even know what they were going to fight for. They went to support Sowore because of hype, not because they knew the cause.
He explained that the instant collapse of the protest crowd proves that many participants were motivated by hype and publicity, not genuine activism.
According to him, the ongoing Nnamdi Kanu court case may face the same pattern if citizens continue to rely on online noise without action.
He added another observation, saying:
“Now only Nnamdi Kanu dey for him court, we go back again… and guess what? This is going to be like this for the next five years, cause you all can’t do nothing and only make noise.”
He emphasized that protests may make headlines, but without planning, awareness, and consistent action, they rarely lead to meaningful change.
