Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has sparked online debate after criticizing women who willingly become second wives.
The actress, in a post shared on her Instagram page, aligned herself with a cleric’s message that condemned the practice.
She described women who marry already married men as greedy and inconsiderate, arguing that such actions are built on the tears and pain of others.
Edochie maintained that there is no honor in becoming a second wife, stressing that the role brings only shame and misfortune rather than respect or recognition.
She also warned that those who build happiness on another woman’s suffering would eventually face the consequences of their actions.
